No. 7 train to be down this weekend

No.7subwayMay 29, By Christian Murray

The number 7 train between Times Square and 74th Street/Roosevelt Avenue will be closed in both directions this weekend.

Service will be down from 2 a.m. Saturday through 4:30 a.m. Monday, the MTA said.

The MTA said that it will be providing two free shuttle services this weekend. One shuttle bus will pick up riders at stations between 74th Street/Roosevelt and Queensboro Plaza. Riders will then be directed to take the N train.

The second shuttle bus will take riders from Vernon Blvd/Jackson Avenue through to Queensboro Plaza. Riders will be directed to take the N train.

The service disruptions are due to the ongoing construction taking place along the 7 line, which is expected to end in 2017.

  1. Track work on the 7 line may stretch to 2017 but aren’t the LIC to Manhattan disruptions ending in 2015? Can anyone else confirm?

  2. That’s what I’ve read as well

  3. It took a little over 4 years to build the Golden Gate Bridge.

In the amount of time the MTA has been “working” and will continue to “work” on the No. 7 line, we could have had a brand new subway system.

  4. Who cares? I don’t think the MTA has ever met any of their deadlines.

  5. Help cleanup our ‘hood!
